Calling all boaters and champions for kindness! Boaters Against Bullying is a groundbreaking initiative uniting BullyingCanada and Boaters For Change to raise awareness, empower communities, and create a wave of change against bullying.
Bullying is a pervasive issue that can have devastating consequences, and the water should be a place of fun and inspiration, not fear. Boaters Against Bullying is a first-of-its-kind collaboration between BullyingCanada, a national leader in bullying prevention, and Boating For Change, a nonprofit organization empowering the boating community to become active stewards of our oceans and communities.
At the heart of Boaters Against Bullying is a remarkable five-year voyage around the world aboard a 1990 Beneteau Oceanis 500 sailboat by a long-time BullyingCanada volunteer. They are preparing the boat to embark on a journey that will raise awareness, inspire action, and provide crucial support for BullyingCanada's mission.
Throughout the voyage, the boat will host fundraising events, including sunset cruises and sundowner hours, in ports around the globe. Following the planned five-year journey, the boat will be used to continue raising funds for BullyingCanada and Boating For Change, potentially through sale or action.
The voyage aims to raise awareness about bullying, inspire action in communities around the world, and raise funds o support BullyingCanada's critical work.
There are several ways to get involved: donate to BullyingCanada, offer in-kind support for the boat refit, or simply spread the word about our initiative.
The boat is planned to be used for continued fundraising for BullyingCanada and Boating For Change, potentially through sale or auction. However, the voyage may be extended based on ongoing, interest, support, and impact.
